Dear Friends,
It is with great joy that I can communicate with you as we celebrate the gift of life despite so many threats, which surround us. I would like to begin with an expression, which always fills my heart with joy: “Thank you.” Yes, I thank God, life, family, friends, every hour and every space … I thank all of you, who are taking the time to read this newsletter!
We, the Piarists of the Province of the USA-PR, appreciate your generosity. Your kindness allows us to continue our ministry of service. By educating and evangelizing children and youth, we hope to help create a better world and a renewed Church.
Of course, this goal will never be possible without families. For this reason, we thank God for Pope Francis. He recently established two initiatives. First, he dedicated the period from December 8, 2020 until December 2021 to be a Year of Saint Joseph. He was the husband of the Blessed Virgin and the educator of the Master, Jesus of Nazareth. Second, he de- creed that the period from March 19, 2021 until June 2022 be dedicated to the family. This second initiative occurs on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of his apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia.
Let’s live this time by strengthening our families in faith. Acts of love can help to accomplish this goal. In addition, such acts will help to create a sense of hope for the future.
Speaking of hope, we ask you to place our young Piarist brothers in your prayers. Some of them will soon be ordained as priests or deacons. Others will soon profess their solemn vows. In addition, Brayan de Jesús is nearing the completion of his novitiate in Miami.
I entreat you to become committed to something very important: “ask the Master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest so that all the children of the world may soon praise the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”
Thank you for your cooperation. You can always count on us. May the year 2021 fill you with grace and consolation. May Saint Joseph Calasanz unite us!

Estimados amigos,
Es una alegría que podamos conectarnos, para celebrar el regalo de la vida, a pesar de tanta amenaza que nos rodea. Por eso, comienzo con una palabra que siempre llena de alegría el corazón: “GRACIAS”. Sí, gracias a Dios, a la vida, a la familia, a los amigos, a cada hora y cada espacio…
¡gracias a ti, que lees este texto!
Los escolapios de la Provincia de los USA-PR, apreciamos tu generosidad y deseamos crecer en gene- rosidad cada día, en la crea- tividad de nuestras vidas puestas al servicio de un mundo mejor y de una igle- sia renovada, desde la educación y la evangelización de la niñez y de la juventud.
Claro, esto nunca será posible sin la familia. Por eso, damos gracias a Dios por nuestro Papa Francisco, que ha tenido dos ideas geniales: La primera, decidir que el año 2021 esté especialmente dedicado a la figura de San José, esposo de la Virgen y educador del Maestro, Jesús de Nazaret. La segunda, decretar que, desde el 19 de marzo de 2021, hasta junio de 2022, sea un periodo especialmente dedicado a la familia, con motivo del quinto aniversario de la exhortación apostólica “Amoris Laetitia”.
Vivamos este tiempo construyendo nuestras familias sobre la roca de la fe, que actúa por el amor. De este modo, habrá un futuro de esperanza.
Hablando de espe- ranza, pongamos a nues- tros hermanos escolapios jóvenes en oración. Algunos de ya están a las puertas de su ordenación sacerdotal o diaconal, y otros a las puer- tas de la profesión solemne, mientras que nuestro novi- cio Braian de Jesús está en la segunda parte de su noviciado en Miami.
Los animo a que nos comprometamos en algo muy importante: “pedir al Dueño de la Mies, que envíe muchos operarios, para que, en breve, todos los niños de mundo puedan alabar al Padre, con el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo”. Gracias por su colaboración. Cuenten siempre con nosotros. Que este año 2021 les llene de toda gracia y de todo consuelo. ¡San José de Calasanz nos une!
