To be the new Calasanz… For three weeks, from June 27 to July 17, 2022, 32 Piarists from all over the Piarist geography, recently ordained or about to be ordained Piarist Priests, left Madrid to follow the footsteps of our Holy Founder Jos\u00e9 Calasanz. From Madrid, we went to those regions of Peralta and its surroundings where Calasanz was born and lived the first part of his life before embarking on Rome. I rescue something that was said to us in Getafe, the land where St. Faustino Miguez Sch.P. died. A saint is not ahead of his time, but one who can open his eyes and see the reality of those around him. In this way, we were able to read the life of Calasanz from another perspective from his time in Spain and then in Rome; he was a man who knew how to open his eyes to the reality of his time to be able to respond in a particular way. I believe that to be the new Calasanz comes from here since it does not mean to copy Calasanz but to open our eyes to the reality we live to respond in a Piarist way. Besides all the learning and deepening in the life of our dear Saint, we had the opportunity to grow in the mentality of the Order. This is thanks to the sharing with our Piarist brothers from other demarcations: Asia Pacific, Hungary, Austria, Chile, Argentina, East Africa and Central Africa, Poland, India, Brazil-Bolivia, and USA-PR. We shared life, dreams, laughter, and so many other moments that made us see how much we have in common and the desire to continue building the Pious Schools. I really appreciate the opportunity that the General Congregation gave us to live this experience and the team that was there and behind the scenes making this meeting possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ser los nuevos Calasanz\u2026 Durante tres semanas desde el 27 de junio al 17 de julio de 2022; 32 escolapios de toda la geograf\u00eda Escolapia, reci\u00e9n ordenandos o por ser ordenados Sacerdotes Escolapios partimos de Madrid para ir detr\u00e1s de los pasos de nuestro Santo Fundador Jos\u00e9 Calasanz. Desde Madrid fuimos para aquellas regiones de Peralta y sus alrededores donde Calasanz naci\u00f3 y vivi\u00f3 la primera parte de su vida antes de embarcarse a Roma. Rescato algo que nos dec\u00edan en Getafe, tierra donde muri\u00f3 San Faustino M\u00edguez, Sch.P. un santono es aquel que se adelanta a su tiempo, sino aquel que es capaz de abrir bien los ojos y ver la realidad de aquellos que le rodean. De esa manera pudimos leer la vida de Calasanz desde otra perspectiva desde su tiempo en Espa\u00f1a y luego en Roma, un hombre que supo abrir sus ojos a la realidad de su tiempo para poder as\u00ed responder de una manera particular. Creo que ser los nuevosCalasanz, surge de aqu\u00ed ya que no significa el copiar a Calasanz sino abrir bien los ojos a la realidad que vivimos para as\u00ed de una manera Escolapia responder.Adem\u00e1s de todo el aprendizaje y profundizaci\u00f3n en la Vida de nuestro querido Santo, tuvimos la oportunidad de crecer en mentalidad de Orden. Esto gracias al compartir junto a nuestros hermanos escolapios de otras demarcaciones (Asia Pac\u00edfico, Hungr\u00eda, Austria, Chile, Argentina, \u00c1frica del Este y \u00c1frica Central, Polonia, India, Brasil-Bolivia y USA-PR), compartimos vida, sue\u00f1os, risas, y tantos otros momentos que nos hicieron ver lo mucho que tenemos en com\u00fan y las ganas de seguir construyendo las Escuelas P\u00edas. Realmente que agradezco la oportunidad que la Congregaci\u00f3n General nos dio de poder vivir esta experiencia y el equipo que estuvo all\u00ed y tras bastidores haciendo posible este encuentro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
